Updated 29 October 2026. Every rank and count on this page is our own tally of MCC’s official “Final Allotment Result for PG Counselling Round 1 dated 24.10.2026” (1,735 pages, 28,723 rows), downloaded from mcc.nic.in on 29 October. Our total and branch counts match the speciality-wise figures Medical Dialogues published on 29 October (for example 2,102 MD General Medicine and 2,009 MD Anaesthesiology). Round 2 dates are from MCC’s schedule uploaded on 29 October. These are Round 1 allotments, not final closing ranks; check mcc.nic.in before you fill Round 2 choices.
How to read these numbers
- “Last rank” means the highest NEET PG 2026 rank that got a seat in that branch in Round 1, in the quota and category shown. It is not a cutoff and not a promise.
- Open category, AIQ is the cleanest comparison: government and central seats, unreserved. Reserved-category ranks run much deeper.
- Deemed seats appear in MCC’s list as “Self-Financed Merit Seat” at 54 institutes, all deemed universities such as Sri Ramachandra, Kasturba Medical College Manipal and Dr DY Patil. They go to very deep ranks because of their fees, not because the branch is easy. See our deemed MD/MS fees page before you count them as an option.
- Round 2 changes everything. Seats freed by upgrades and non-joining go back into the pool, and closing ranks usually get deeper in later rounds. That pattern is from past years, not a forecast.

Source: our count of MCC’s Round 1 final allotment list. “Seats allotted” includes AIQ, deemed, central university and other MCC quotas, but not DNB seats, which are in the next table.
The pattern is clear. Among clinical branches, Anaesthesiology, ENT, Psychiatry, PMR and Ophthalmology admitted open-category AIQ candidates up to about 19,000–25,000 in Round 1. Radiology, General Medicine and Dermatology closed in the low thousands. Anaesthesiology also had 2,009 allotments, the second most of any branch, which gives late-rank candidates more chances. Our least competitive clinical branches page compares this with 2025.
