In short
Rajasthan’s NEET UG 2026 stray vacancy round opens today, 16 October. The application fee is due by 4 PM on 17 October and the form by 8 PM. Document verification is 18–20 October at SMS Medical College, Jaipur. Choices close at 11:45 PM on 21 October, the result is due on 22 October, and reporting runs to 26 October. A private-college MBBS choice needs a ₹5,00,000 security deposit. Reports put 1,039 MBBS seats vacant after Round 3, but the vacant seat matrix published with the notice is the count that decides.
Updated 16 October 2026. The board’s notice is dated 15 October 2026. We could not open ug.neetrajasthan.com, so the schedule below is from two news reports of that notice (Edufever and MedAdmit, both 15–16 October), which agree on every date and amount. Vacancy figures are from PW and MedAdmit (13 October) and neet2seat (12 October). Check the official portal before you pay.

Security deposit and fee
The application fee for fresh candidates is ₹2,500, or ₹1,500 for SC, ST and ST-STA candidates of Rajasthan domicile, plus transaction charges. Candidates already registered and still eligible do not pay it again. The deposit depends on the highest type of seat you choose:
| Seat type you include | Security deposit |
|---|---|
| MBBS government seats (government, government society, RUHS CMS, ESIC) | ₹50,000 |
| MBBS management seats in government society colleges and RUHS CMS | ₹2,00,000 |
| MBBS in private medical colleges | ₹5,00,000 |
| BDS (all colleges) | ₹10,000 |
As reported, if you paid a deposit in an earlier round you pay only the difference for the seat type you now choose, and a deposit forfeited for not joining in Round 2 must be paid again. An allottee who does not join loses the deposit under the bond, and a joined seat cannot be resigned before the last admission date set by MCC and NMC. Before you add a private college, read our hidden costs guide and the refund and exit rules.
Who can apply, and who cannot
| Your situation | Stray round? |
|---|---|
| Registered, but no allotment in Rounds 1, 2 or 3 | Eligible |
| Round 1 allottee who exited or resigned without forfeiture by 16 September, and got no Round 3 seat | Eligible |
| Round 2 allottee or upgrade who did not join and got no Round 3 seat | Eligible if you re-register |
| New candidates | Eligible |
| All-India candidates (clause XI, “Other”) | Considered only for seats left after the Rajasthan state merit list (clauses I to X) runs out |
| Allotted or upgraded in Round 3 but did not join | Barred |
| Shown as “joined” after Round 3 on the MCC website | Barred |
| Joined a college through All India or any other counselling | Barred |
Timing matters for anyone also in the MCC stray round. MCC’s stray result is due on 19 October, two days before Rajasthan choices close. If you are allotted a seat in either round, read both rule sets before you join anything, because joining one can make you ineligible for the other. Our MCC stray round page has the revised MCC dates.
How many seats are left
PW and MedAdmit report 1,039 MBBS seats vacant after Round 3 across 15 colleges, of which 731 are general-category seats and 308 private management quota seats. That is out of 7,533 MBBS seats, so about 86.2% had been allotted. neet2seat’s count of the Round 3 list, 6,494 MBBS seats, fits the same figure. None of these reports lists vacancies college by college, and joiners and non-joiners at the 15 October reporting deadline will change the number. The board’s vacant seat matrix of 16 October is the list to work from.
The out-of-state question
Round 3 was the first round this year to seat candidates from other states in MBBS: neet2seat counts 1,180 MBBS seats (1,058 general seats at private colleges, 121 management seats and one government seat) allotted to them once the Rajasthan-domicile merit list ran out. The board said the result followed the Rajasthan High Court’s order of 7 October 2026 in S.B. Civil Writ Petition No. 24139/2026.
Separately, PW and MedAdmit report that the board did not extend reservation benefits to reserved-category candidates from other states in Round 3, and that private colleges have disputed the change. In plain terms, as reported: an out-of-state SC, ST or OBC candidate is considered on general merit for leftover seats, not under Rajasthan’s reserved quotas. This is a legal matter that is still being argued, so rely on the notice and the bulletin, not on summaries, including this one.
What to do in the next five days
- Today (16 October): Open the vacant seat matrix and check which private colleges actually have MBBS seats left. Compare fees on our Rajasthan counselling page, and for Udaipur see the PIMS Udaipur fee page.
- By 4 PM on 17 October: Pay the application fee, and submit the form by 8 PM.
- 18–20 October: Go to SMS Medical College, Jaipur, with original documents and the bond. Without verification you cannot fill choices.
- By 5 PM on 21 October: Pay the deposit for the highest seat type you will choose. Fill and lock choices before 11:45 PM.
- Before paying anything else: Run the college verification checklist. Tuition is paid only after an allotment letter, through the official process. Nobody can sell you a stray-round seat.
