Sido Kanhu Medical College, Dumka: Seats, Fees & Admission (2026)

In short

Sido Kanhu Medical College & Hospital (SKMCH) is a new, private, trust-run medical college at Pathar Bagan (Sadipur), Ranishwar, Dumka. NMC’s 2026-27 seat matrix (notice dated 10 September 2026, seats as on 1 September) lists it as a new establishment with 150 MBBS seats. The college’s own fee sheet, dated 17 July 2026 and marked “proposed”, quotes ₹15,00,000 a year in tuition for management-quota seats. It is not the government Dumka Medical College — the two are searched under the same name and are very different propositions.

Some websites say SKMCH has 100 seats. NMC’s own matrix says 150, and NMC is the number counselling authorities are bound by.

The proposed fee, in the college’s own words

The college publishes a fee sheet headed “Proposed fees structure for MBBS programme 2026-27”, signed by the Dean and dated 17 July 2026. It gives figures for management and NRI seats only:

Head Management quota NRI quota
Tuition (per year, 4.5 years) ₹15,00,000 USD 27,000
Hostel (per year) ₹2,50,000 ₹2,65,000
Admission fee (one-time) ₹75,000 ₹1,00,000
Indicative total (college’s figure) ₹81,00,000 ₹1,32,49,000 (varies with exchange rate)

What is missing: the sheet does not give an All India quota or state quota fee, and we could not find one in a JCECEB document. Do not assume the ₹15 lakh figure applies to every seat, and do not assume it does not. Ask JCECEB, in writing, what the fee is for the exact seat category you are allotted.

How seats are being filled

JCECEB’s counselling portal lists online counselling for MBBS seats — “for All India and NRI quota seats” — in four private colleges: Laxmi Chandravansi Medical College (Palamu), Netaji Subhas Medical College (Seraikela-Kharsawan), Sido Kanhu Medical College & Hospital (Dumka) and Birsa Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (Khunti). A news report on the provisional Round 2 list of 11 September 2026 counted 49 allotments to SKMCH. A JCECEB notice of 17 September 2026 extended the Round 2 window to 19 September and opened Round 3 applications from 20 to 24 September; dates move, so read the portal, not a screenshot.

Check these before you pay anything

  1. Get the allotment on the portal. A seat is real when it appears against your roll number on the JCECEB or MCC allotment list. A phone call or an agent’s letter is not an allotment.
  2. Pay only what the allotment letter says, to the account it names. Payments outside counselling buy nothing enforceable.
  3. Find the college in NMC’s matrix yourself. Open the seat matrix PDF, go to the Jharkhand table and read the row. Admissions above the approved number are non-compliant under NMC’s notice.
  4. Ask for the fee schedule and refund policy in writing. The college’s own sheet is marked “proposed”; a final schedule should replace it.
  5. Visit if you can. This is a new college in its first admission year; the hospital, hostel and faculty you are promised should be things you can see.

The college’s website is still being built out, and a few pages carry placeholder text. That is normal for a first-year institution, and it is exactly why the details above should come from the counselling portal and the NMC matrix rather than from the college’s marketing.

Sido Kanhu Medical College cutoff 2026

No official closing rank or closing marks for SKMCH has been published that we can cite, so we print none. What is known: it is a first-year college with 150 sanctioned seats, JCECEB counselled its All India and NRI quota seats in Rounds 1 and 2, and a news report on the provisional Round 2 list of 11 September counted 49 allotments to SKMCH. For the actual ranks, open JCECEB’s allotment lists on the counselling portal. Whatever the rank, the seat requires a qualifying NEET-UG 2026 score — 213 for General/EWS and 177 for OBC/SC/ST — so older cutoff lists showing lower marks describe an earlier year (what changed).

Not to be confused with

Dumka Medical College is a separate, government college with 100 seats. Its fees are set by the state and its seats close at far higher scores; see our side-by-side.
