Jamia Hamdard BUMS 2026: Fees, Cutoff, AACCC Round 3 Dates

In short

BUMS at Jamia Hamdard is a five-and-a-half-year Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery — a recognised AYUSH degree, not MBBS. Admission is through AYUSH NEET counselling (AACCC) on a qualified NEET-UG score, not through MCC. The university’s own fee schedule lists ₹1,50,000 a year for General seats and ₹3,00,000 a year for self-financed (SFS) seats, with the final half-year at half fee. There are around 50 seats.

Updated 19 October 2026: AACCC Round 3 is open. Registration and payment for AYUSH UG Round 3, which covers Jamia Hamdard’s BUMS seats, close on 20 October 2026; the result is due on 23 October and reporting runs from 24 to 29 October, as reported by Medical Dialogues (6 October) and Careers360 (15 October). Stray Round I registration follows from 3 to 9 November. Round 2 results are out. Full dates and deposits are in our AYUSH Round 3 and stray round guide. We could not open aaccc.gov.in; confirm the dates and fees on aaccc.gov.in before you pay.

BUMS is not MBBS

This is worth saying first because the two are searched together. BUMS qualifies you to practise Unani medicine, registered with the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine. It does not lead to allopathic practice, to NExT, or to an MD in a modern-medicine speciality. For a candidate who wants to be an allopathic doctor, a BUMS seat is not a cheaper route to the same place — it is a different profession.

Jamia Hamdard also runs an MBBS programme through its Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (HIMSR), admitted through MCC deemed counselling. That is the page for MBBS.

Official fee structure

From the university’s published Guide to Admissions fee schedule for the School of Unani Medical Education and Research:

Seat category Years 1–4 (each) Year 5 (half year) Course tuition
BUMS — General ₹1,50,000 ₹75,000 ₹6,75,000
BUMS — Self-financed (SFS) ₹3,00,000 ₹1,50,000 ₹13,50,000
BUMS — NRI / foreign US$4,500 US$2,250 US$20,250

One-time admission charges, examination fees and e-governance fees are listed as extra. The university allows the annual fee to be paid in two instalments. Figures are from the current fee schedule; confirm the year’s edition on the Jamia Hamdard admissions portal before paying.

How admission works

  1. Qualify NEET-UG. The same examination and the same category percentiles as for MBBS.
  2. Register for AYUSH counselling. Seats at Jamia Hamdard are allotted through the AYUSH Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC), not through MCC or a state DGME. It runs its own calendar: in 2026, Round 3 registration closes on 20 October and the result is due on 23 October, as reported. AACCC’s security deposit for deemed universities is reported by Careers360 as ₹50,000.
  3. Language requirement. BUMS is taught with Urdu-language sources. Candidates without Urdu at secondary level are generally required to complete a Pre-Tib course — Jamia Hamdard runs one — before or alongside admission. Confirm the current requirement in the admission guide; it is the condition most applicants are unaware of.
  4. Report and pay against the AACCC allotment, directly to the university.

Cutoff

Aggregated AYUSH counselling data puts recent closing ranks for BUMS at Jamia Hamdard in roughly the 1.65 lakh to 2.15 lakh all-India rank band across categories. That is far below the MBBS range, which is the practical reason the two are searched together. Treat the figure as an indication; AACCC publishes the actual round-wise allotments.
