Who can take part
As reported by Edufever, neet2seat and FindMyCollege, the round is open to candidates who did not get a medical seat from KEA in any round. A candidate holding a KEA dental seat can apply for MBBS by paying the MBBS course fee. You are reported to be barred if you:
- were allotted a medical seat by KEA in any earlier round;
- joined a seat in the first three All India, deemed or other-institution rounds; or
- were allotted a seat in MCC’s fourth (stray) round.
neet2seat adds that a seat taken in this round cancels any earlier seat automatically, and that not reporting forfeits both. If you are also in the MCC stray round (result 19 October), note the overlap: MCC’s result and KEA’s option deadline fall on the same day.

Over five and a half years, a ₹25 lakh tuition line alone runs past ₹1 crore before living costs. Compare this with deemed and other-state options in our management quota guide and the low-fee private colleges list before you enter options.
Deposits and penalties
FindMyCollege reports a medical course fee deposit for this round of ₹1,00,000 for “G” seats, ₹12,00,117 for “P” seats and ₹25,00,000 for “N/Q” seats, and ₹1,00,000 for dental. It also cites penalties in the UGNEET 2026 booklet, up to ₹1,00,000 plus a one-year debarment for some defaults. That is one report, and it does not map the letters to seat types, so read the amount on the KEA payment screen and the booklet before you pay. Our refund and exit rules explain why a stray seat is close to irreversible.
What to do in the next two days
- Check your status on the KEA portal. If you were allotted any KEA medical seat, or an MCC stray seat, you are reported to be ineligible.
- Enter fresh options before 9 AM on 19 October. Old options are not carried over. List only colleges whose full fee your family can pay for five and a half years.
- Verify the college. Use our verification checklist and the KEA counselling page.
- Pay only through KEA. Anyone offering a Karnataka seat outside the portal is not offering a KEA seat.
